The 'Grand Concert' body of the Alternative X is about 5/8" smaller in length and width and 3/4" smaller in depth than the 'Auditorium' body of the Alternative II. Loses a bit in the lows but much easier to throw an elbow over.
With the advent of the CA evolution, these mostly get used for open tuning experimentation, but that where most of the interesting composition takes place.
